Heron on a post at sundown
It was a lovely evening and the strong mellow light lured me out for a walk to watch the sun go down. It was very peaceful with a gorgeous pink light sparkling off the Beauly firth. Two herons were in the vicinity and the one who was not perched on the post sticking out of the water seemed to take great pleasure in doing a low fly past of the other and scaring him off the post. They then swapped roles and did it again! This picture was taken as one had flown away and the other had settled down to enjoy the last of the evening light.
Busy non-stop day at work - glad Monday is over and we are now hurtling headlong into the middle of the week!
