Only Three Legs...

...but a shed load of attitude. This little fella was born with only three legs, he had a sister who also was born with three legs but died. Apparently no one can explain this the mother may have bitten them off when they were born but he seems to be doing all right and by all accounts is a bit of a one for the lady cats.

If you come to Symi (or pretty much any other of Greek islands) you will find a lot of cats running wild (or limping really quickly). They are a great pest control and a colourful addition to the atmosphere of the place but they do like to reproduce. When I first came here 24 years ago they were considered close to vermin in appearence and attitude of the locals. With the influx of tourists (particularly British and Danish) and their dislike for cruelty and neglect there has been a marked improvement in their welfare.
