Happy birthday, Doreen!

Today I went to see my parents, and then in the evening we headed over to Rochester Cathedral for a surprise birthday do for an old family friend. She used to be a housekeeper for my grandparents and looked after my mother, and then me, while we were little. I still remember having picnics on a red and white gingham cloth in front of Sesame Street eating jam sandwiches! She had absolutely no idea that this party was happening and it was really lovely to see the surprise on her face. There were so many people there, who all seem to have known me when I was a tot. 'Twas rather bizarre seeing as I didn't remember any of them!

I like this shot, my grandparents, parents, myself, and the lovely (tiny) Doreen. Was a really lovely day :)
