Helsinki velodrome

This shot is taken at about 8 in the morning. A few hours later the place was full of people. The annual Tour de Helsinki bicycle ride with almost 2000 participants took place today and the velodrome served as a finish area. For me this was the first time to participate in TdH. It went ok, and the weather was perfect too.

The Helsinki Velodrome was built 1940, for the Olympic games. Because of the war, the 1940 Olympic games were cancelled but the 1952 Olympics were held in Helsinki.
