Into the great wide open
The Vliehors is a remote sandbank in the west of Vlieland. It's about 3/4 of the island's area. We went exploring this great open sandbank with the Vliehors Express, a sturdy bus that took us there over the beach. After a great walk and many of fabulous views (it's not difficult to feel like a very pro photographer there ;-) ) we had some hot chocolate around a bonfire, listening to sailor songs. It was a great experience, I recommend it to any of you who will ever visit the island!
The title of this Blip refers to a festival that was held on Vlieland during the weekend I backblip this, a week after we returned from our holiday. The festival sounded very promising but apparently tickets were sold out in one day. Maybe next year I'll be Blipping the official Into the great wide open!
