Over the water ...
... to Fife.
Hubbie bought some tickets on line for Deep Sea World yesterday, but we ended up going to visit my sister-in-law instead. So we took the trip over the Forth Road Bridge to Fife today. Ethan loved watching the boats in the Forth as we went over the bridge, and before heading to Deep Sea World we went down by the Forth to watch the goings on.
Ethan enjoyed Deep Sea World although it's not the sort of place I think you can spend too long at. An hour and a half was enough for us. In that time he tentatively touched a starfish, was more enthusiastic about touching a crab and quite happily stroked a lizard. His favourite part though, as I predicted, was the moving floor in the underwater tunnel, which we ended up going round 4 times!
We had planned to go to Craigie Farm on the way back, but he fell asleep in the car very quickly, so we just headed home. After lunch, it was such a sunny afternoon I decided to take him to the Almond Valley Heritage Centre. For the first time, we had a trip on their light railway. He seemed to enjoy it but I think it would have been better if the 5 wee girls who got in the same carriage as us hadn't been tucking into tubs of ice-cream which made him feel a bit left out!
