Dastangoi: The Lost Art Form of Urdu Storytelling

After my theatre class at CR Park, attended Dastangoi event in Stein Auditorium at IHC.

The show had to start at 7:00 PM. I reached at 6:45 PM. I was surprised to see the crowd in front of Stein Audi. I didn't knew that this Art form was that popular and attracted all the educated and High Class people including the senior citizens.

Went at Program desk and asked for one ticket. I really became upset after hearing that all tickets have been sold out. I was cursing myself of not booking the ticket in advance while I was looking forward to attend this event since last 2 weeks. I asked the receptionist - Any chances for cancellations? She said. No chances. All the bookings have been done online.
I started waiting at the counter itself hoping that i might get the ticket if someone doesn't turn up. There were some more guys waiting like me.
The crowd and queue started moving inside the Audi and I was still waiting at the desk.
A guy came and showed the mobile request to receptionist saying he had booked 6 tickets. I again asked the receptionist if there is any chance to get the ticket. The guy said that 3 of his friends are not turning up and he has 3 spare tickets. Two guys standing next to me said they want two tickets. I said I need one. :)
Cool, I paid him Rs 300 and got the ticket of front row.
After enetering the lobby I was surprised to see my friends Lak**, Chan** & Manis**. Chan** said how come you got the ticket and I explained. I asked you guys have ticket and he said No but we might find a jugaad (work out).
So they all went upstairs to see the show and I went inside the Audi.
I enjoyed the 2 hour show alot.

Above two men, Danish Husain & Mahmood Farooqui & Danish Husain rocked the show with their way of story telling of a princess of Rajasthan - Chauboli

A quick briefing:
Princess Chauboli has vowed that she will only marry a man that can make her speak four times in one night. Seventeen times twenty-four princes have tried and failed and are now rotting in the dungeon grinding fodder for horses. A brave and valiant Thakur, one who shoots 108 arrows through his wife's nose-ring, everyday, day after day, also wants to try his luck. What happens to him? How will Chouboli be won? Containing a story within a story within a story, some of them pan India favorites, Chouboli is a funny, bitter, sarcastic and lyrical take on Indian life.
