The Dumping Ground

On The Isle of Skye many old crofting areas have their dumping ground. Somewhere to put things that could be put right or, more likely, that are past putting right.

Here a sheep grazes the area around an old corrugated iron clad shed. In the view are two boats; an old Ferguson tractor and the remains of a Morris Traveller.

Many might say that it makes the old crofts look untidy but in some ways it adds character to these old habitations. It is their way of life.
