Bristol International Kite Festival
Okay, here's a dilemma.
What do you photograph when you go to a kite festival.
It's got to be kites you would think, but..
Bristol Kite Festival takes place in Ashton Court which has great views over the city and the countryside beyond. There were also thousands of people just asking to be blipped.
But it's a kite festival. Problem #2 is that massive kites look really impressive in the air and you get a sense of their massiveness. As soon as you take a shot of them in the sky that sense of scale is lost.
So here's some kites. A great afternoon spent on my back looking up at kites, occasionally closing my eyes (to avoid glare...!)
There is an alternative!
Refreshments all around, boys with ice cream/drink. Breezy yet warm. Gorgeous September weather and some brilliant kites.
This morning had a 6 am start and some time later I'd run my 20 miles to Bath via the Avon Gorge and the Bristol to Bath Cycle track.
Felt good most of the way, even after I ran out of water.
This run is more crucial than the Marathon itself as you need that confidence boost. I feel much better for having done it and know suspect that I will finish in Liverpool in 5 weeks.
School proper tomorrow with pupils!
Comments to catch up on - sorry for being so poor.
Run: 20.59 miles in 3hrs 24 minutes
