Rather Worrying
So, I took a brief break from my maths work this afternoon, and decided to have a little browse through the kindle store on my iPhone. I was interested to see what kindle books were recommended for me - so I checked, and this was what I saw!
Apparently, these gentle and uplifting reads would be just right for me! I wonder whether they'd be nice for bedtime? Go down a treat with a mug of Horlicks and a hot water bottle in the cold winter months?
Until I woke the Wonderspouse up, screaming in the middle of the night! ;-)
Admittedly, I think I did download something about true crime a few weeks back, and I AM quite interested in such things. When I was at college, I subscribed to a partwork called Murder Casebook, and made myself too scared to leave my room at one point by reading every detail of the Ted Bundy case. I'd also have loved to be a forensic pathologist - I certainly have the research nose and scientific interest, but I'm WAY too wussy to get through any sort of medical training, and the thought of having to deal with live patients was enough to put me off going anywhere near any of the medical professions - no doctoring or nursing for me, no way!
But I also have lots of other stuff on my kindle app, so why they picked up on the grislier stuff, who knows. The Wonderspouse says they know me well and have got into my head!!! Ah!!! This from the man who went on Mastermind with the specialist subject of Hannibal Lecter!
Anyway, there's not much to report from the rest of the day. I didn't turn the computer on this morning, but did an intensive couple of hours maths work at my desk. It was only slightly delayed by Charlie, who had a bit of food stuck in his throat and was therefore dribbling all over the cage. I got him out, checked he was breathing OK (he was), mopped him up, and got him plenty of water in case he needed it. He finally sorted himself out and everything settled down to normal again (this has happened before with him - I googled it the first time, and now I know what it is, I'm less worried).
The Wonderspouse tidied his study a bit while I was working - he brought out armfuls of old shoes, quite a bit for the laundry basket, and a whole binliner full of rubbish.
Apart from that, we've sat on our sofas and I've done maths. Limits and continuity today - nearly a whole assignment question completed.
Back to it now I suppose! I love it really, but doing a degree "part-time" "for fun" can be quite a lot of work too.
I couldn't imagine not learning stuff though - it's just the way I'm made!
