Harefield Fun Run Day

Three and a half years ago my step-dad had a heart transplant after spending the best part of 2 years in hospital waiting for one. Each year they hold a fundraiser fun run to raise money for an MRI scanner amongst other things. It falls on Peter's birthday and we go every year before the birthday party back home. My step-dad, Peter, is doing marvellously. We always see the nurses who were there throughout with their cheerful strength, and the families of the other patients my mum saw daily on the ward for 2 years in and out of intensive care corridors and over bleak polystyrine tea breaks.
