Pied Stilt

Was TeeJays blip birthday today so in celebration (and bracing ourselves for a sunday in at work) we went to the Red Barn for brekkie. The Barn has a couple of man made ponds which attract ducks from round and about but today it played host to a couple of pied stilts. Apparently they have been there for a couple of weeks so it is likely they are nest building etc. I headed down to the pond frontage to try and get some shots of them wading around, which I did but then of course I got too close and they flew off to the other end of the pond. Zoom and sports mode in hand I 'flew with them and caught 4-5 really pleasing shots. I like this one because it has it's mouth open :-)
