Cabrera Island
We had our day trip today (See blip from 26th August).
What an exhilerating ride we had over to the islands! I thought we would be on a Zodiac type dingy, but it was a Sea Rider type - like riding in the rodeo, YEE HAH! Brilliant fun!
There was a taped tour for a quiet bit of the journey, the history is quite interesting - and sad, so many French soldiers perished here. It's now a nature reserve but it was really the wrong time of year to see much in the way of birds. We did see some dolphins though which made the day. We snorkeled and saw some interesting fish, Sir climbed up to the tower (we were all too hot), visited a blue grotto and then made a slightly less bumpy trip back to base.
A great day out for our family party. The only thing that might have improved it was some integrated thinking on providing a picnic. The instructions were unclear but we understood you weren't allowed to take anything to eat but there was a bar there. When we got there, the bar didn't serve much in the way of food, but there was a covered area with tables and benches for picnics......
But as I said, we all had a super time.
