A very special celebration
Tonight we celebrated Guy and Margret's (correct spelling) Golden Wedding Anniversary.
I took my camera with me and had a great time trying to capture images of everyone at the party. We are in our village hall. During the meal we had lots of opportunities to "take wine with..." when various toasts were read out and the people in question stood up. E.g. all those who were at the wedding; all those who have been lectured by Margret; all those who have borrowed clothes from Margret, and so on. It was great fun.
There was music: the grandchildren sang Rutter's Blessing as a grace. We all sang the Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah to end the evening. Mark made an excellent speech. We sang a song specially composed for the evening about the courtship of the happy couple. We even sang Happy Birthday to Mum ready for Monday. There were people present from Germany, France (and Cambridge).
Here I have attempted to include everyone in the photo. Of course there is always one in the toilets and one trying not to take centre stage. This is a panorama with 3 shots stitched together in Photoshop.
It was a great evening.
