J and I got a good laugh out of this statue above the door of the Speedy auto shop down the street from our apartment. Talk about a mix of old and new!

Another HOT day in Paris and Th had the welcome picnic for her new school in full sun on the Champ de Mars. The parents mingled there for a while too before retreating to the shade. We met some nice people from all over (New Zealand, China, Australia, Sweden, Columbia, Japan, Vermont - it's an international school) but were a little surprised not to come across any other Canadians.
