.... or modern man???? I love this! It's so timeless and profound. I spotted this on one of our walks last week - it's to be found inside the old WW2 lookout hut. This is a tiny little cement construction in a wild and remote place atop a mountain looking out to sea. It has three long rectangular windows presumably for guns, and tiny little fireplace. A pretty bleak place to be stationed and I can't believe it saw much action.

Himself has taken son number 1 to the airport and it already feels quiet and empty. He was rather reluctant to go as work rears its ugly head next Monday and he's fed up with it. Still, we did some good walking and talking and will see him next weekend when we have a quick jaunt across the water.

Torrential rain last night but the sun is just peeping put so I must head out into the garden and will return later.
