A sailor's kiss

This 7.5m high statue on San Diego's waterfront is inspired by the iconic photo of a nurse embraced in a kiss with a sailor in Times Square on the day World War II ended. The sculpture stands next to the USS Midway Museum, which is an old aircraft carrier (on the left in yesterday's photo) from the WWII era.
