i heart fungi...

... as you have probably guessed.

It was heavy rain most of the night so this morning we packed and headed back to Glasgow without much delay. However the further south we got, the better the weather.

Anyway we stopped at the Falls of Falloch, a popular short forest walk that starts just off the road south from Crainlarich to Loch Lomond.

And of course I took many, many fungi shots. The recent bad weather meant that most were young and in good shape.

I haven't quite ID'd this guy, perhaps a foxy or an orange oak bolete but it sure looks like a fairy or a gnome should be sitting on top.
