Urophora cardui

Today, I went to a local nature reserve which was new to me. I didn't really have my wildlife / photographer head on as I found navigating my way round the reserve quite a challenge. It was, however, a very interesting reserve and well worth another visit. I spotted this gall, and my ID is based on a guess and some googling, so if anyone can throw any further light on it, I'd love to hear from you!
More in my comfort zone, we ate the cauliflower fungus blipped yesterday for tea. It was spectacularly good, and I'll be keeping my eye open for these in future!
