Newburgh plums

The long narrow gardens in Newburgh on the banks of the River Tay are renowned (soon to feature in a Beechgrove Garden programme I believe). Many of the gardens have orchards with Victoria plum trees and each year there is a plum festival. My godmother owns one of these gardens and each year we try to visit around this time in the hope of getting enough plums for a plum crumble.

I was lucky enough to be able to pick some of these beautiful plums this morning... and there will be enough for several crumbles and some for the freezer as the crop is good this year.

Thank you Auntie C!
