Morning delight

Happy weekend everyone, hope it's a goody!

Today's shot was taken this morning from home before a day stuck indoors, with no natural light, at a communications/media conference. Good value nonetheless. Good to be finally the weekend though, yay!

This is Somes/Matiu Island, in the middle of Wellington Bay, where they used to quarantine 'sick' people during colonial times. Later it was used as a military base and secrecy naturally surrounded it. It's now open to the public via a cheap ferry and DoC (Department of Conservation) host a large and diverse array of native flora, fauna and wildlife.
