Take me to the Bridge!

Thanks for all the lovely comments on yesterday's anniversary blip. Very much appreciated!

Most every night, I travel across Kew Bridge on my way to pick up Tom from the restaurant. Tonight, no exception...apart from the fact that I decided to stop.

There's a house boat (more a boat than a house I guess) just by the bridge that I have always liked. Been there years. has it's own jetty, if that's what you call it, with a walkway to the riverside. Looks a bit ragged, but when you see inside, it looks fab. Nicely done out and looks really comfortable and cosy.

The River Thames is tidal at this point, so it does go up and down with the tide, but at low tide, it sits on the riverbed, at an angle. Guess that takes some getting used to, living on a slant, but then, no more that at high tide, bobbing from side to side.

We used to rent a 'Designer-Liner' as a studio in Kingston, and we got used to that pretty quickly, looking at Macs as they swayed about with the currents. It was huge, over 2000 square feet. It was a great talking point, but did it get us more business? Not so sure. We let it go in the last recession!

Still, I often look at this beauty and wonder what it must be like to live there and as I got in the car tonight without having touched my camera all day, I thought to myself, "i'm gonna take myself to the bridge!".

So here you have it!

PS - This was taken at 11:30pm, so although it looks like the blue hour, it was just a long exposure!
