People on a Bridge

Tale of two sculptures

This all-real (no processing of any sort) collage provides a background information on my sculpture siting dilemma.

Sculpture on the left (previously featured here) is too small for the vast expanse of lawn. Also - loose the shrubbery! It has a very handsome black cube of a pedestal...

Sculpture on the right (previously featured here) is located between a drop-off lane of a very busy building and a busy university campus street. It interferes with the pedestrian traffic across the street, and needs more room.

I have never before pondered what is the RIGHT way to display sculptures as parts of the given environment, and not as exhibits in some outdoor sculpture park. I will pay more attention in the weeks to come, and i will report to you my findings periodically :-)
