Long Slow Distance

Off to the South of France

In order to catch my early morning flight to Toulouse on Friday (off to visit my brother Phill and sister in law Stephanie for the long weekend) I had to go to Gatwick Airport the night before and sleep... where I could.

Previously I have kipped on the floor or on the specially designed benches (ie, specially designed to prevent people from lying down).... because of my frequent trips to France and/or Hungary I don't do hotels and the Yotel at Gatwick filled me with terror.

So, a bench would do. But why was there no ceiling? Answer: building works recommenced at Gatwick at midnight. The din was atrocious. I was roused several times by pneumatic drills and other noisy equipment.

But I would arrive in the Gers in time for breakfast... or would I?
