Saltwell Towers.

A fairytale mansion, built by a leading stained glass master craftsman and manufacturer, William Wailes in 1859 for his family.
He sold it to Gateshead Council in 1876, but lived there until he died in 1881.
It is in the centre of Saltwell Park, and is now a visitor centre, cafe and exhibition centre for local artists and photographers.
