Bittersweet day

Today a great friend got her PhD and this was what was left of the cake and champagne to celebrate her achievement. I also was one of her supervisors and this was my first success as a supervisor. Even better she had NO CHANGES to make - not often that happens.

What made this bittersweet was that another friend and the principal supervisor retired today - so the celebrations were tinged with sadness. Good luck to them both as they start new chapters in their careers.
