Wow! What a colour scheme!

This Kenwood Chef mixer could only be from the seventies. My Mother probably still has her one that was bought in the decade before. They are good robust machines (or were). Her version is a far more conventional shade of white.

This one started belching nasty fumes/smoke, so I'm going to investigate if it's repairable, and if that would be worthwhile. Some spare parts are still available, even after all these years.

The colour scheme brings back all sorts of memories of that time (most of which I spent in secondary school). It reminds me of some of the shocking (appalling is probably more correct) colours that British Leyland used for their cars, such as the: Marina; Allegro; Princess; and more. Their reliability was quite the opposite of these mixers, and perhaps it's just as well that few survive!
