PICKING UP THE PIECES IN PECKHAM

Earlier this month, we watched the TV in horror as we saw Peckham High Street in flames. My parents go there at least once a week to do some shopping - and my mum was distraught when she saw the TV footage. The bakery where she used to buy my niece gingerbread men was destroyed by fire.

This is the bakery and its neighbour today - boarded up with scaffolding. I like the fact that there are positive pictures of people who live in the community on the boards and on the walls.
