Last of the beetroot crop
(Sorry not to have blipped yesterday but have backblipped for the record!)
Spent the morning in Oxfam, the town was fairly quiet but we had a steady trickle of customers.
After this afternoon's walk I thought it was time to pickle the remaining beetroot. Mike dug them up and hosed them down and here they are. It is getting close to the chutney and jam making season so I need to clear the decks!
I don't know what this variety is called but it's great for pickling. The great advantage is that the beetroot is longer and thinner therefore makes more even sized slices and goes into the jars much easier! Some of them are cooking right now. Must get them all done before I go out for rehearsals again tonight.
