Moody Broody

I woke up the earliest i've been up voluntarily in months today, six thirty! Basically my sister left for her silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition this morning so I thought i'd wave goodbye to her. Then I also realised that I have only two days free left to complete about three days of work. (Including today that was) And so I thought I had better get cracking.

So procrastination had to wait, and I managed to get at least some done. However i'm not really that pleased with the amount i've done, it should be much more. It's not neccesarily that I wasn't working hard enough or kept getting distracted. I put notes on the piano to stop me playing it even! But my attention span is similar to that of a goldfish at times. Often find my self just dazing around the room aimlessly before realising what i'm doing.

Other than that not a great deal happened today. Took this photo when we were trying to deal with Miranda. Basically on holiday we left our neighbour to open the chicken's up in the morning, feed them etc. But obviously she wasn't going to stick around all morning to collect the eggs so they were probably left until evening, and unfortunately Miranda has gone broody :/ This is a bit of a new experience for us, being newbies to chicken keeping. But after searching the net there are a few things you can do.

One of which is dunking them in cold water for a bit to cool their temperature down (which is what we're trying here) and try and return them to normal. But it can take a few goes to get it. All I can say is, she would make an eggcelent mother ;) She's ferociously defensive! Bad moods must be contagious though, or i've been speaking to her too much, but i'm not in the best of moods myself tonight. I'll be fine tomorrow, just a bit down :/
