Nuthatch

When I was young nuthatches weren't seen at all in Cumbria. It's only in the past year that I've see any in our village. They've been coming to the bird table fairly often but if they see a movement inside the house they're off.

I would have liked to have opened the window for a crisper shot but, if I had done that, she would have been off and not returned today.

Hopefully the pair will breed again in the area next year and remember our generous feast of nuts. I might then be able to set the camera up outside with the remote trigger.

I will have to learn a bit more patience!
