Kobe 2003

When I was in Japan, myself and a few other English teachers had a five-a-side footy team. We played Japanese teams at futsal and it was great, always going to an izakaya afterwards for beer and food (and often a karaoke session!).

It was brilliant. When I returned to the UK I was sent a t-shirt with our "club"'s crest on it, a crest I had never seen before! It was a wonderful and unexpected gift and I love it. Unfortunately it is falling apart and the badge has almost completely gone (well it has all gone and all that is left is the residual gluey stuff that held it on).

So I thought I would blip it before it disappeared forever. You can see the thought that has gone into it. It is made up of a drinking dragon thing and the flags of the five countries the team came from: France (he was a French teacher!), the UK, the USA and Canada. And of course the Japanese flag (we often had local talent playing for us).
