A single red rose

A nice slow start to this morning - in fact it was that slow that I was in my pyjamas until lunch time! Well, I won't be able to do this next week when school has started again, so I think that I should enjoy lazy mornings whilst I can!

I went swimming this afternoon with Libby and my best friend, Lucy. We spent the afternoon doing swimming races (Libby won every time - grrr), playing in the wave pool, going down the slides and most importantly, chatting! It's great to spend time with Lucy before we go back to school - it gave us plenty of time to organise our plans, mostly about the upcoming residential visit - I just can't wait!!

Dad finished work at tea time, so we picked him up and had tea together (this was nice because he's been working late shifts, so I haven't seen him hardly at all for the last 4 days). Dad's busy DIYing again - he's turned into a bit of a DIY geek since he's found out that he can plaster walls!! Bless him!!

I've got a party to go to tomorrow, so hopefully my friends will let me blip them and you can see what they all look like.

As the day was spent swimming, I went for a little walk up and down my street to get today's picture. The light was fading, so I didn't get many good shots, but I really liked the way that there was just one rose growing from this bush and it was standing proud. I've tried to frame it a little with the gate. Not sure whether this has worked properly, but I gave it a go! Good night everyone.
