Iyi bayramlar.

Today is Seker Bayram (sweet festival). The day that celebrates the end of the fasting period for Muslims. It involves visiting relative and neughbours, sharing chocolate and sweet desserts, and visiting the graves of deceased loved ones. Here is Zeki placing flowers on his Turkish Grandfather's grave along with his Babanne (Father's mother). He enjoys the ritual and takes it very seriously. It is all the more poignant now as we also visited Necmi's cousin's grave, Hakan, who died in March. I still find it hard to accept that he's under the ground. That's life, I suppose.
