Out at the peat.

All the day long, out at the peat,
Then on the shore in the gloaming
Stepping it lightly with dancing feet,
And then together homing."

(The Tiree Love Song)

Had a great day on the peat with Di, Inge and their friend Roz. It stayed dry, and the wind was great as an antidote to the hard work.

We got all the turf off, and managed to cut about 1/3 of the peat. The rest can wait till next week.

I cooked some good, warming fare tonight for the workers - goulash with mashed tatties and carrots, followed by apple tarte tatin and cream.

Well received, and well consumed.

Absolutely buggered! But in a nice way.....
