Botanical Vaudeville
Pigs at an exhibition. Uptown Pig Pox 1988 By Robert Rauschenberg.
This is a very small exhibition in Inverleith House, Edinburgh Botanical Gardens, which offers a live glimpse of Rauschenberg's work from the late 80's and early 90's. The screenprints demanded a lot of attention and one or two stood out for their technical beauty as much as anything else.
I visited the exhibition with a friend, Terry, who I have not seen for twelve years. He studied art and I definitely needed him to discover how to respond to the works. The Pig offers a photo opportunity. I suspect it would be used as a clothes horse in my house.
