Day 5 - Someone I Love

Day 5 of the challenge - Someone I love. You can find it here - the Challenge

I could have gone for any number of pedestrian pics of the kids, husband, dog or cats. But I had a long think and this was the result.

In the photo is my dearly loved and very missed Mother-in-Law, Shona Donaldson. She was an amazing woman who packed a lot into her life including a stint in the WRNS in WW2 and bringing up two small children in the back of beyond in Nigeria and Sierra Leone during the late 50's and early 60's. She loved to paint, travel, made fantastic soup and cakes, adored her 3 grandchildren and she did a mean version of 'Stop Yer Ticklin', Jock!'

The baby she's holding on her knee is my husband Laurie and the wee girl holding the photo is her only granddaughter, Effie, daughter of Laurie. Three generations of Donaldsons, one picture (or two!), all of them dearly loved and treasured and one of them greatly missed. Shona, this one's for you!
