Up to find Scotland had fast forwarded to October.... again.... I love this country but the weather can sometimes just get on yer nerves.

Kids were suitably ensconced in front of the telly when I announced we were going to Torwood for a walk. You'd think I'd decided to pull all their teeth the way they went on. Needless to say 2.4 nanoseconds after getting out of the car they were armed with sticks and charging through the deep dark woods. A good wander was had and then it was back to the house to make soup and put fleeces on as the heating is not going on in August....

We met some people looking for the fabled Blue Pool of Torwood, a pool of the deepest blue crystal water ... anyway they were looking in completely the wrong direction it would appear. I will take a wander up there when the bracken dies back now I know where it is. It's water of the deepest crystal blue will in reality probably look like a students salad drawer.
