It's not one of THOSE adventures

Hello, and welcome to the 1st in a series of 22 entries:

Ben and Pete's GR20 Adventure!

The GR20 is a 180km hike that runs from Calenzana in North West Corsica to Conca in the South East...

My housemate Ben googled "European hikes" and this cropped up, he sent me the link, and 6 months later - here we both are- 25kg on our backs, walking down towards Southend Central station both quietly thinking to our selves:

we have to carry these bags HOW FAR!?

Today was to be a day to relax, check all our kit and set off to the Best Western in Gatwick airport in good time.

What it actually was, involved me and Ben nursing hangovers and suffering from lack of sleep!

1 mile down, and we arrived at the train station to begin our 'adventure' - my hips are aching and Ben is limping with sore ankles.... I think this will go well!

After fighting our way across London and out to Gatwick, we tracked down the correct shuttle bus, and arrived at the hotel to find our room.

Separate beds.

We were going to be on our own in the mountains for a long time, but this wasn't one of THOSE holidays....

Unfortunately, no one told the staff at the hotel and we found this little master piece waiting for us on one of the beds!
