Bob (Chippenham River Festival)

This afternoon I attended the Chippenham River Festival to see the birds of prey being shown by a local pest control firm. Last year they had a peregrine falcon called Smokey, but she wasn't present this time as she has gone to an aviary to breed. They did have a fabulous eagle owl on show, though, that had been AWOL (see what I did there)  last time, and she was brought from her stand to show us close up - too close for my lens unfortunately.

This very beautiful bird is Bob, a 4 month old saker falcon hybrid.

The stand was alongside the River Avon and when they had packed up I walked alongside it to the town centre to have a look at the resident swans.
