Another day in Denver; another high-altitude run and lots of sitting indoors conference-style.

Many people have asked me exactly what I'm doing/why I moved - I got a job with the Arlington Public Library (my hometown) working as a Coordinator for the Adult Pre-GED Literacy program. The job, however, is not exactly a normal one. It's part of a government program here in the US called Americorps - specifically, Americorps VISTA in my case.

I was in Denver to attend larger Americorps training. Basically, it's a government-sponsored initiative to send "volunteers" to underserved communities to commit to service for one year. We're not entirely volunteers - we get paid a poverty level living wage - but that's the story, anyway.

If you have more questions about it feel free to ask. This is all a big transition for me and it did happen rather quickly, so I understand if you missed it. :)

Denver has been great. Really a great town.
