Rangitane Reserve
It was a less frantic day today as we had no-one arriving early to work on the house. We decided on a lazy start to the day but a phone call at 7.45 (we were awake ! ) got us going - Pickfords to say that Customs weren't clearing our container until they had more information on a 'weapon' I had declared on the inventory. The weapon is a Birkebeiner knife given to me by a group of Norwegians many years ago and which has been in our display cabinet ever since. I had managed to find a photo on a website(http://www2.norwayshop.com/cgi-bin/oss/shop/sh.pl?ah0050 ), emailed it off with an explanation and at lunch time told it was cleared and MAF had cleared it the day before. The container could be delivered next Friday - double christmas ! Our minimalist lifestyle is now time limited, but I will have to finish off the jobs with some urgency now !
I took Ollie down to the reserve for a walk this pm. It was sunny when we left but when we arrived there the clouds had gathered. I expected to get soaked but the rain held off. The reserve has a small beach, not like Cousteau's expanse, but it is quite interesting with mangroves stretching into the water all around.
ps can anyone tell me how to create a link direct from a word, without the url etc !
