Popped into Haddington's secondary school this morning, the school my son will attend in a few years.

This institute of learning is known as Knox Academy, named after the great reformer from the early 16th century who was born in the town.

It struck me that it is mighty impressive for any school to be able to track its history that far back. To put it into perspective, the first Rector (headmaster) listed here was in position 61 years before the Pilgrim Fathers landed in the US.
