A New Leaf

Leavenworth, Washington

We played golf early so in the afternoon we had time to drive to a Bavarian style village about an hour away from where we were staying. Leavenworth was once a logging town but when the mill moved away and the town almost died in the 1960's,, the townspeople decided to transform all their buildings into a Bavarian style village. It's surrounded by beautiful mountains so the setting was perfect for their idea. It's now a thriving tourist destination and is a perfect spot for summer and winter activities.
