Rainy days are...
... baking days!
[finished version in my Kinda Horrigans journal]
Pretty quick bit of editing really today. Tiny tweak with the RAW file - increased the exposure by +15 as I wanted a high key-ish feel and upped the blacks ever so slightly just to give it a bit of depth. Then, bashed up the clarity to +45 because it was a really rubbish image and and not sharp enough for my liking!
After that, opened in Photoshop, cloned out a tiny dark patch in the bottom left hand corner, then applied a photo filter layer and took the effect off the cake as it made it too yellow-ish - this was done using a black brush set to around 80% on the layer mask. Cropped just a teensy off the bottom as there was too much board and not enough 'stuff'. Flattened, sharpened. Saved.
Done!
Tip of the Day:
I'm rubbish at taking 'posed' family portraits - but did like the ideas in this Family Portraits - Do's and Dont's article - even though I'll probably never manage any of 'em!
