The thing I love about space museums (and Moscow's has to be one of the best) is that they still present everything as though it is incredibly futuristic. Yet it is all so retro. It's an exhibition of the 60s. This year is the 50th anniversary of Gagarin's (and humankind's) first space flight. It is also the year that NASA is decommissioning its space shuttle programme. Think how much has been achieved in 50 years in telecoms, compared to how little we've achieved in space exploration. I guess the end of the Cold War pulled the rug from under the feet of competitive space research. I doubt we'll be getting to Mars for a long time yet. But the space museums won't admit that.
