Pest Control?

This is the season when pests proliferate. A fresh hatch of mosquitoes has arrived to bite during morning dog walks or the evening watering ritual. Wasps hover around the barbecue and get downright annoying if we sip something nice on the deck. Mice sneak into the house. As I write a particularly well fed and wary one is evading our traps in the cold room.

Now it wouldn't be fair to classify the pup with the likes of them. Although she can be, umm, a bit "in your face." This morning while she investigated the yard something stung her. K was able to find and remove a stinger from her poor swollen puppy schnozz so it must have been a cornered bee that retaliated. Antihistamines worked their magic and by the time we posed her for this puffy portrait the swelling was already going down. My nickname for her is Ms Fizz. By tonight she's her usual peskyeffervescent self.
