Or, rather, cherry on bottom.

Bottom of the cocktail glass, that is.

This is one of my favorite drinks - a bit of gin, a squeeze of lime, and a splash of Luxardo's maraschino liqueur. I'm out of brandied cherries, so a ripe one was used instead.

I've photographed this particular drink many times over the years, and it never fails to amaze me how beautiful it is and how other-worldly it seems. Something from space? Something from the depths of the ocean? Nope. Just something in a little glass. Our world is amazing, isn't it?
