La Maison de Balzac

I visited this museum years ago and loved it and it was as good as ever today. I'd forgotten how attractive the gardens are and was pleasantly surprised that they, and the museum, are free. We saw la canne de M. Balzac, his writing chair and desk, manuscripts and stamps reprensenting many characters from La Comédie humaine.

It was a great day - we also had a really good meeting with Th's headmistress. She gave us a tour, answered all our questions and went over Th's timetable with us. Plus she was funny and I liked her a lot.

The weather was beautiful and our walk from the school to Balzac's house and then to our apartment was a real pleasure...
