Ye old city hall

Perth City hall is under threat of demolition. It has been unused and decaying for several years and the town is divided in the possible action too be taken. The frontage is imposing, but the rest of the building is a box.

I'm with the "Tear it down brigade".

Why?

A purpose built concert hall now serves us well and encourages music and drama, festival and art to our town.
If the hall is demolished, it will open up a square in the centre of the town and give a focus for gatherings and markets.

Why keep an elephant with little to recommend it, but a bit of front?

I know I have a bit of front too, but nobody recommends me.
